Wait, the typical fan of Snooki isn’t a fan of books? Color NewsFeed surprised.
Since its release on Jan. 4, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi’s novel A Shore Thing has only sold 8,998 copies. This comes after a promotional blitz, where the pint-sized guidette was on every talk show known to man. Why didn’t Snooki move copies? One publishing exec told The Hollywood Reporter, “The book didn’t do as well as it could have because rather than a tell-all, it was disguised as a novel.”

But even if the format didn’t work, she still massively outsold her castmate Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino, whose advice book only moved 12,200 copies since November. Not a good sign for Jenni “JWOWW” Farley, who has a book coming out next month.
It would seem like the book-buying public may have more discerning taste than we had thought. Except for the fact that the Kardashian sisters’ book, Kardashian Konfidential, has sold more than 109,000 copies since November. So it doesn’t seem like the reality-star-turned-author trend will die any time soon. (via Hollywood Reporter)
