While most Internet users were jonesing for further details on Osama Bin Laden’s death, thousands of U.S teenagers apparently had no idea who bin Laden actually was.
The leader of al-Qaeda became the most searched-for person on Yahoo on Sunday, with searches spiking to over 100,000%, of which 20% were teenagers. Although many were curious to know how the terrorist died and who killed him, 66% of these teenagers, aged 13-17, had a rather more primitive question: “Who is Osama bin Laden?”

One could argue that these teens simply wanted to find out more about who he was. Who knows? But judging by some of their tweets, this seems unlikely. “Who is Osama Bin Laden? Is he in a band aswell?” reads one tweet. Another reads “Who is Osama and why is it important we killed him?”
What’s really surprising is that these kids grew up during the war on terror. Which is worrisome, to say the least.
