With it’s cute illustrations by Ricardo Cortés, and a front cover that might remind you of The Tiger who Came to Tea, you could easily be fooled into thinking it’s an innocent children’s book.
Except you probably wouldn’t want your kids to read it. The book by Adam Mansbach, author of Angry Black White Boy, is a humorous “children’s book for adults” based on the author’s own frustration of getting his 2-year-old daughter, Vivien, to sleep.

Amid his struggle, which surely any parent can relate to, Adam Mansbach posted a comment on his Facebook wall that read: “Look out for my forthcoming children’s book, ‘Go the F— to sleep.”
His online friends responded so well to it that Mansbach decided to turn the joke into a reality, and the book has gone viral, even though it’s not being released until October.
Go the F— to Sleep climbed way up the list of the Amazon best-seller chart in preorders alone, and now has a prominent book on the Parenting and Families chart.
