What next?

The question likely crossed the mind of former New York Giants wide receiver Plaxico Burress as he walked out of prison after a 20-month-stint on gun charges Monday.

“I want to go home and spend some quality time with them,” he told reporters.

Beyond that, however, the 33-year-old is eyeing a return to the NFL, if the league lockout is ever resolved. His agent Drew Rosenhaus said he expects Burress to be a top free agent now that he’s been released.

“There are going to be multiple teams interested in signing him. I expect him to get a good contract,” he said. Burress is also not ruling out playing with the Giants again.

“If and when everything gets settled,” he said. “When they get back on the field, I’ll be ready.”
