Step Aside, Justin and Mila: Marine Asks Betty White to Marine Corps Ball

Asking celebrities to the Marine Corps Ball is the new black.

First Sgt. Scott Moore made a short video of himself asking actress Mila Kunis to the Marine Corps Ball in Greenville, North Carolina in November. When the clip was mentioned to Kunis in an interview she accepted the offer, after a little prodding from her Friends With Benefits co-star, Justin Timberlake.

Almost immediately after, Cpl. Kelsey De Santis created a video of her own asking the pro-Marine-date Timberlake to accompany her to the Washington Marine Corps Ball. Timberlake enthusiastically accepted the offer saying “I don’t get asked out ever, so I was very flattered by that.” (Though, after all the cajoling he threw Kunis’s way, he could hardly say no, could he?)

Now we have the newest video date request from a Marine, Sgt. Ray Lewis, who aimed a little higher with his request: the lovable, venerable Betty White. (No offense to Justin and Mila, but Betty is a legend. She also doesn’t have a movie to promote, so her acceptance might not be so easy to secure.)

And Lewis clearly knew that he’d have to pull out all the stops to snag White: his video is significantly longer and features him dappered up in uniform, holding a rose (in honor of her Golden Girls character? We hope so!). He also loads on the flattery saying, “She’s just funny, she’s sweet, she’s mature. She’s the all around perfect woman.”

Who could resist this? Betty, please say yes! (via Vulture)
