Things got emotional on Jimmy Kimmel Live Tuesday night.

Ever the comedian, however, Kimmel did manage to throw out a few zingers — “[Uncle Frank] passed away over our vacation. He hated vacation, so he decided to ruin ours” — which made the tribute even more touching. Towards the end of his monologue, Kimmel couldn’t contain himself any longer, as he broke down while describing Frank’s final days battling cancer.
“Uncle Frank loved being a part of this show,” he added. “And I want to say thanks to my co-workers who talked to him and visited him and picked him up 12 hours early for work. He loved you.” Excuse us while we quietly sob in the corner, now.
