NewsFeed was all over the Bronx Zoo Cobra beat in 2011. In March, the zoo had to shut down its Reptile House after a 20-inch serpent had apparently escaped its cage. The female cobra, eventually named Mia, was on the lam for six days until she was found, very hungry, in a dark corner of the Reptile House. But before she was captured, she had hatched her own Twitter account and captured America’s attention. She was so famous that there was a Facebook campaign for her to host Saturday Night Live. (We’d still prefer Cookie Monster.)
