It takes a brave soul to pull the plug on a live TV show at the best of times. But during the Super Bowl? Who would even contemplate such a thing? Someone’s who’s been listening to that mischievous Jimmy Kimmel, that’s who.

In case you’re still recovering from the epic game, in which the New York Giants yet again bested the New England Patriots, you might be unaware that the Jimmy Kimmel Live! host has managed to persuade a fair few of his viewers to best their friends and families by pulling off an audacious stunt.

Kimmel asked for them to fulfill the challenge of the prank, which was called, “I Unplugged the TV During the Game.” What’s more, he had them record their family and friends’ reactions, which he aired in a montage as entertaining as anything you’re likely to see during the NFL season itself. And props are due to the participants, as they didn’t pull the plug during a meaningless moment but rather the final, thrilling Hail Mary pass of the entire game.

Be warned: there’s some strong language (the bleeps can only hide so much, after all) but while you’ll find yourself smiling at the naughtiness of the stunt, woe betide the prankster if we were actually in the room, right?
