Panicked students and faculty evacuated Chardon High School, located 30 miles east of Cleveland, after a shooting Monday morning that left three students dead and two injured.
Classmates say the shooter was known as an outcast who was reportedly bullied. He entered the school cafeteria around 7:40 a.m. and began shooting, prompting some students to flee to a neighboring middle school, some to seek safety in a teachers’ lounge and others to run outside. Officials identified the student who died as 16-year-old Daniel Parmertor, who was waiting in the cafeteria for his daily bus to a vocational center.
In this footage, faculty, students and parents gather as police and firemen investigate the area immediately following the shooting. The underage suspect was arrested near his car about a half-mile away from the school, but was not immediately charged.
