This movie series does something Americans do so well: turn something innocent into something, well, not so innocent. The raunchy teen-sex movie franchise played off all things typical Americana (apple pie itself plays a prominent role at one point, as does the famed Don McLean song) by using the apple pie tie-in as part of its title.
