There’s a new Golden Girl on the Twitter block, and it’s the beloved Betty White herself. The 90-year-old actress is the latest celebrity to take on social media, 140 characters at a time.
“Hello Twitter! And they said it would never happen. Oh wait, that was me,” she joked in her first tweet at the handle @BettyMWhite. She later quickly came back with two more quips, to her ever-growing 98,000 followers.

White recently debuted her new hidden-camera reality show, Off the Rocker, last week. White also currently stars in TV Land’s Hot in Cleveland and filmed for the movie Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax.
But despite joining Twitter later in life than most, White showed she can still roll with the best of ‘em:
