Orcas, otherwise known as killer whales, certainly live up to their name when it comes time to feed their massive bodies. Killer whales are known to eat whatever is accessible, from fish to land animals.
This video features rare footage of dozens of Pacific white-sided dolphins fleeing a predatory killer whale en masse. Interestingly, both species are types of dolphins; for years, it was thought that orcas avoided attacking their cousins.
The first photograph of such an attack was captured only four years ago, proving that they do happen. This clip of the dolphins’ hypnotizing synchronization as they dive and resurface during their escape was filmed in Hyacinthe Bay, British Columbia.
