The BBC’s attempt to make science accessible to the average Brit started with a trip to the cafeteria. Science correspondent Jonathan Amos pulled out a bag of ping-pong balls, a sack of sugar, and a lunch tray to demonstrate Big Bang physics. The BBC must not have had much confidence in Amos’ demonstration since they describe the video as Amos “attempt[ing] to explain the Higgs boson” on its own website.
