The 1988 Seoul Olympics were a long time ago for Nigerian track star Ambrose Monye. The two-time silver-medal winner returned to his native country and quickly became one of its most feared individuals, acquitted of murder after beating a man to death in 2009. In 2011, he was arrested in connection with the murder of a young South African woman, Chanelle Henning, who was allegedly gunned down on the order of her ex-husband after she dropped her son off at school. Monye (whom police also suspect of being a drug dealer) is being held without bail and charged with murder, conspiracy to murder and illegal possession of a firearm.
