Queen Anne was the last Stuart monarch, a Restoration-era queen who ascended to the throne in 1702 and was the first to rule over the united kingdoms of England and Scotland. The name lives on today with Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip’s only daughter, Princess Anne.
