Britain's Princess Anne leaves Saint George's Chapel in Windsor Castle after attending the Easter Mattins Service, April 8, 2012.
Many are the Annes that have graced royal British history–among them, two of King Henry VIII’s wives, Queen Anne, and Prince William’s aunt Princess Anne. Queen Anne was the last Stuart monarch, a Restoration-era queen who ascended to the throne in 1702 and was the first to rule over the united kingdoms of England and Scotland. The name lives on today with Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip’s only daughter, Princess Anne. Odds are currently 12 to 1 that a female child of Wills and Kate’s would share a moniker with the philanthropic equestrienne.
