Celebrities might get preferential treatment at restaurants, retail shops and sporting events, but one place they won’t have people pandering to their every move: the airport security line. Kanye West and Kim Kardashian learned this the hard way, along with the other passengers on their Tuesday flight to Los Angeles.
The couple bypassed a mandatory airport security screening during their layover at John F. Kennedy Airport in New York, NBC New York reported. An airline employee decided to help the couple, who were making a connecting flight to Los Angeles, by escorting them through a “non-public area” after they had cleared customs and baggage, the Week reported.

However, security protocol requires every passenger to go through a Transportation Security Administration checkpoint at the airport, according to NBC New York.
So, when TSA officials heard what happened, they pulled the rapper and reality TV star off their plane to conduct a private screening, which caused a 50-minute delay for the rest of the passengers who were forced to wait for the couple, according to the Week.
TSA is investigating the incident and the airline employee who let West and Kardashian skip the mandatory security screening, according to NBC New York.
