We hope this viral video dance craze dies well before the 2014 vote — in fact we’re a bit surprised it’s gone on as long as it has — but meanwhile volunteers for Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell’s reelection campaign have done their own spoof in front of Churchill Downs in Louisville, Ky.
The video features one man with a giant image of the Kentucky GOP Senator’s head, joined by Uncle Sam, President Abraham Lincoln, and someone wearing a horse mask (to represent the Kentucky Derby, we assume). Rosie the Riveter kneels and flexes her muscles as a person in an elephant suit seems to be having a grand old time dressed as the symbol of the “Grand Old Party.”
The stars are college students, campaign manager Jesse Benton told CNN. They “approached us about shooting it because they are all fired up to volunteer for Team Mitch,” he said. “We are putting it out because we plan to work hard but also plan to have a lot of fun.”
Which Senator will release a ‘Harlem Shake’ video next? Roll Call‘s “Heard on the Hill” blog points the finger at Marco Rubio:

If Ashley Judd does decide to run against McConnell in 2014, she should release a “Harlem Shake” video of her own so that voters can compare both candidates equally.
