Google Maps just released these images from its newest project: snapping 360 degree views of some of the world’s most famous mountains. Armed with two sets of cameras, some 10 mountain-enthusiast Google employees asked management if they could document the peaks while on vacation. The result? Striking vistas of Aconcagua in Argentina, Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, Mount Elbrus in Russia and Everest Base Camp in Nepal.

While on the peaks, the team took three shots while facing north, three south, three east and three west, and later stitched them together using Google Map technology. The Googlers say they hope the project can provide access to some of the most remote parts of the world.

“I’m generally just an adventurous person,” Dan Fredinburg, 31, Google’s Technical Program Manager who went on all four expeditions, tells TIME. “I wanted to inspire others to get out there and see things for themselves.”
