Naples, Fla. resident Mark Abaire was arrested and charged with a felony and disorderly intoxication for something we’ve all been tempted to do at one point or another: sneaking a soda refill at McDonald’s. But is pilfering a $1 drink worth up to five years in prison and a $5,000 fine? According to Abaire’s arrest report, he has a history of petty theft, which boosted the charges from a misdemeanor to a felony, NewsFeed reports via ABC Action News. The case was disposed, and the charges were dropped on May 11, 2012.
