It may come as a shock to some fans that the former child rockers Hanson are old enough to drink. However the singers of the 1997 hit “MMMBop” have just announced that not only do they have a new album coming out, but they are also releasing a beer, the aptly-named Mmmhops.
The Hanson brothers – Isaac, 32, Taylor, 30 and Zac, 27 – introduced their new quaff by giving a taste to those attending last week’s Los Angeles premiere of The Hangover Part III. The group’s best-known single, the insanely catchy Grammy-nominated classic “MMMBop,” is featured in the movie and clearly inspired the Imperial Pale Ale’s name.

The boy band’s beer was brewed in partnership with Oklahoma craft beer company, Mustang Brewing, but won’t be available for drinking until later this fall when the band hits the road on the Anthem World Tour in support of its forthcoming ninth album. However, the brothers have released Mmmhops-related merchandise on their website. The band moved up its beer-swag release plans in response to the devastating tornadoes in the brothers’ home state of Oklahoma. The proceeds from the Mmmhops merchandise will be donated to the Red Cross to aid in the Oklahoma tornado relief efforts.
Their sixth studio album, Anthem, is due June 18.
