Another Hall of Fame wrestler, Sgt. Slaughter, comes by his military rank legitimately—even if Slaughter is not his real last name. Born Robert Remus,
“the Sarge” as he is known in the WWE, was an actual Marine Corps drill sergeant on Parris Island before wearing tights became part of his uniform. In addition to his legendary wrestling career, Remus was the inspiration for the Sgt. Slaughter character in the toy series and cartoon G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero.
