A glitch in Apple’s iPhone maps app is directing drivers across a runway at the Fairbanks airport, the Alaska Dispatch reports.
At least twice in the last three weeks, drivers unfamiliar with the area have followed their smartphone’s instructions up to the edge of the airport runway, then crossed the runway to get to the terminal on the other side.
Airport staff complained to Apple earlier this month, after one driver made a daring runway crossing only to be converged upon by police. As of this writing, Apple’s directions still call for traversing the runway.
