Teen pop sensation Justin Bieber stopped by Funny or Die for an interview with comedian Zach Galifianakis on Between Two Ferns, but it’s unclear whether Bieber had any idea what he was in for.
Galifianakis kicked off the faux-public access television interview by deadpanning, “It’s really exciting to talk to you, especially right in the middle of your public meltdown.” Bieber looked stunned by the statement, but gamely kept going as Galifianakis asked, “I’ve just never interviewed a seven-year-old before so … What was the last toy you got in a Happy Meal?” The good-natured, or shell-shocked “Baby” singer weathered Galifianakis’ other frank questions like “You’ve had three hairstyles. What’s next for your career?” and “When you’re in the recording studio, do you ever think ‘Hey, what if I don’t make something sh—y?’”
The Hangover star is a brand-new dad and may have let his first foray into fatherhood go to his head feeling paternal towards everyone, including the 19-year-old pop star, which would explain why The Hangover star stopped the interview, announcing, “You know what? I don’t like your attitude, to be quite honest. Because you know what? You’re too young to be smoking pot and pee peeing in buckets and driving up and down the highway fast! I don’t think your mom would really mind if a stranger whipped her son.” Then Galifianakis took off his belt and spanked the star, causing Bieber to yell, “What are you doing!?” While Galifianakis soon settled down — saying, “I don’t really think spanking kids is good thing, but you’re not a child. That’s the point. You’re not a child. So I can hit a grown man. With a belt”— he will probably end up on the receiving end of some angry Belieber tweets.
