It turns out that taking students to strip clubs for their 18th birthdays doesn’t get you a teacher of the year award. It gets you fired. And also arrested.
According to an affidavit, 31-year-old high school chemistry teacher Travis Lechien was accused of just that, as well as inviting students to his house to drink beer and smoke hookah “on four or five separate occasions.”
The Indiana teacher was fired from the school he worked at for nine years and is facing three counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
His court appearance is set for next month, giving him plenty of time for lap dances before jail time.
