Time to raise your glasses to Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie: the couple’s rosé is now one of the world’s top wines, according to Wine Spectator.
The magazine describes the $28 “Côtes de Provence Rosé Miraval” — number 84 on the 2013 list — as “refined and elegant, offering pure and concentrated flavors of dried red berry, tangerine and melon. The focused finish features flint and spice notes, with a hint of cream. Drink now.” It earned a 90 on the magazine’s 100-point scale, a score given to wines that are “outstanding” and of “superior character and style.”
Developed at the movie stars’ 1,000-acre estate Chateau Miraval in Correns, France, the wine debuted online in March 2013, and the first 6,000 bottles sold out five hours later. Jolie and Pitt participated in wine-blending classes to help make Rosé Miraval, which is part of a partnership with the Perrin family, the owners of Chateau Beaucastel in the Rhône Valley. And fun fact: it used to be known as “Pink Floyd” wine because the rock band recorded The Wall in the Miraval estate’s recording studio, according to Vanity Fair.
Between producing top wine, pursuing award-winning acting careers, building homes in New Orleans, and spearheading education projects in Cambodia, what can’t this power couple do?
