10. A truck crashes in Michigan

A break from Vine’s usual silly videos, this clip of a truck flying over a guardrail near Lansing, Michigan, quickly went viral. The Lansing State Journal reported that the 59-year-old driver was conscious and talking to rescuers before being taken to the hospital.
9. Wrecking ball

Within weeks of her raunchy MTV Video Music Awards performance, Miley Cyrus released a music video for “Wrecking Ball” and Vine exploded with parodies. Some mashed-up clips of the video with scenes from The Simpsons or mocked Cyrus’s hammer licking, but Frank McDonald’s full monty reenactment takes the cake.
8. Jesus take the wheel

Carrie Underwood may not have meant for her song “Jesus Take the Wheel” to be taken this literally, but it is hilarious. Tosh.0’s blog even made it their Viewer Vine of the Week.
7. Logan Paul gets in cars with strangers

Ohio University freshman Logan Paul has taken Vine by storm in the later months of 2013. The 18-year-old has more than 1.5 million followers and recently took over the TODAY Show’s account for a day.
6. Dancing girl on the news

This Chicago girl made the evening news by not-so-stealthily dancing in the background of a reporter’s live shot. While NBC 5’s Mary Ann Ahern reported on the last day of school in June, Akira Gordon, 5, busted some pretty sweet moves behind her. The Vine went viral a month later when Gawker posted it as a gif. Ahern tracked down Gordon soon after to meet the young viral celebrity.
5. Bat dad

He may not have a theme song like the real caped crusader but BatDad is the certainly the superhero star of Vine. Blake Wilson, the man under the mask, told BuzzFeed the idea came about when shopping for a birthday party. He picked up the Batman mask and never put it down.
4. KingBach to the rescue!

Andrew Bachelor, or KingBach on Vine, told The Daily Beast he turned to Vine as an alternative to YouTube. “I needed to find a way to connect with my fans and have them see me on the regular without breaking the bank,” Bachelor said. At 25, this Vine celebrity has amassed millions of followers and a BET sketch comedy show pilot is in the works.
3. I will always love you

Part YouTube meme cross-over, part Vine trend, this Whitney Houston clip combines the late pop singer’s hit “I Will Always Love You” with the sound of a shrieking goat. Other takes on the meme involve a yawning sloth and a singing banana.
2. Zach King: Vine magician

Vine proved this year that magic is real—at least in 6-second intervals. At the forefront is Zach King, the self-acclaimed FinalCut King on YouTube, who seamlessly performs a variety of illusions that would make Gob Bluth jealous.
1. Don’t tickle Darius

Sometimes all it takes is an adorable kid for something to go viral. That’s exactly what happened to a little boy named Darius who apparently does not like being tickled one bit. truTV featured the clip on their show Top 20 Funniest in early November for an episode on awkward moments.
