Corporations should know it’s best to leave American tragedies out of marketing promotions (see AT&T’s 9/11 blunder), but apparently Campbell’s soup brand SpagettiOs thought it would be okay honor the 72nd anniversary of Pearl Harbor by featuring a cartoon noodle with its tongue hanging out, proudly holding the American flag. Social media fired back with an outpour of criticism from folks who found the ad distasteful and disrespectful. The brand has since pulled the tweet and issued an apology.
