Drama abounds at Snapchat, the hot photo-sharing app popular among teens and anyone who realizes how fun it is to turn ugly selfies into pictures of Harry Potter. The company has filed for a temporary restraining order against one of its ousted cofounders, TechCrunch reports.
Court documents filed today indicate that the co-creator, Reggie Brown, leaked confidential information to the media. Brown openly admitted to doing this and, according to the filing, says he “reserves the right” to continue.
Snapchat claims that if Brown indeed leaks more info to the press, he could cause “irreparable harm” to the company. If the court agrees to grant the restraining order, Brown would face fines, contempt sanctions and a whole slew of other punishments. That could include dismissing altogether the ongoing lawsuit Brown has filed against the company’s CEO Evan Spiegel and CTO Bobby Murphy. (Brown claimed that he came up with the central idea for the app and then was later alienated and betrayed.)
The good news: all this internal drama shouldn’t affect Snapchat users, so feel free to go send some elbow sexts in celebration.
