Police in Nashua, N.H., are investigating a report that longtime state representative David Campbell ran over several ducks with his car. He reportedly killed at least six and injured several others, the Nashua Telegraph reports.
Retired U.S. Marine officer James Murphy said he was standing outside the Crowne Plaza Hotel and had just scattered some crackers for the group of ducks milling around the parking lot. He then saw Campbell’s BMW approaching and said it barely slowed down, crushing several of the creatures.
Murphy contacted police — mostly because he was struck by Campbell’s indifference and “blatant disregard for just everyone involved.” At the time, he had no idea the driver was a state politician.
Nashua police said the investigation is still under way.
