Dartmouth College student Jake Gaba filmed himself dancing across China to Bruno Mars’s “Treasure” for 100 days during a fall study abroad program in Beijing. Sporting rainbow shorts, he moonwalks through the campus of Beijing Normal University, busts out Psy’s signature “invisible horse” moves, and grooves with his tongue sticking out alongside a person in a panda costume — and a real baby panda.

“There were a couple of places I didn’t dance, like a temple in Tibet, because I thought it would be disrespectful,” Gaba told Dartmouth Now. “By late October, everyone kept asking me in Chinese, ‘Are you cold?’”

The clip has already aired on Good Morning America, but the Mandarin language student’s real goal is to dance with Ellen DeGeneres on The Ellen Show.

Here’s hoping this video is the kind of soft power that can boost Chinese views of America.
