It seems like it’s only been a year since their wedding — well, actually, it has been — but in Britain speculation is already rampant over when the Duchess and Duke of Cambridge, better known as Kate and William, will have their first child.
According to the family history website, genesreunited.co.uk, they’ve figured out that the average period between a royal wedding taking place and the couple’s child being born is 851 days. So plan on circling August 27th, 2013 in your calendar: we could be welcoming a future British monarch. It’s been said that Kate and William are focused on fulfilling their Olympic and South Pacific royal tour commitments for most of the rest of this year, which unless they are spectacularly busy could place the beginning of Kate’s pregnancy at some point this November.

Researchers have even tried to predict the most likely name. If it’s a Prince, then Charles, George, Henry, James and Michael are the odds-on favorites, whereas a potential Princess could get the name Carole, Elizabeth, Mary, Philippa or Victoria.
In case you’re taking these claims at all seriously, it’s worth knowing that the date in question is a Tuesday, and the Notting Hill Carnival in London will have just finished. This will no doubt come as a relief to the couple if they plan to give birth where William was born, the nearby St. Mary’s Hospital in Paddington; otherwise the traffic would have been an absolute nightmare.
