Facebook’s recent announcement to finalize a plan to prohibit any member from being unsearchable on the site has reignited conversation around its impossibly private privacy policy.
The company removed the “Who can look up your Timeline by name” service in December 2012 from members who did not have it activated, but now the policy change means even those who did can no longer hide. The online post explaining the move cited a “small percentage” of its 1.2 billion members used the feature, but that’s because it was buried deep into the overly detailed privacy policy.
