Eight musicians cemented their careers in music history Monday, during the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’s annual induction.
Among the new initiates were pop icon Neil Diamond and ultimate “rock villian” Alice Cooper, accessorized with his signature live boa constrictor. The Rock Hall welcomed its new members Monday night at Manhattan’s Waldorf-Astoria Hotel.

Other performers among the class of 2011 were New Orleans pianist Dr. John, singer/songwriter Tom Waits, girl group Darlene Love and pianist and songwriter Leon Russel. In the non-recording category, Elektra Records founder Jac Holzman and Specialty Records founder Art Rupe.
