It’s a testament to the way we live now–that is, totally obsessed with the internet and texting— as the Oxford English Dictionary has added the symbol ♥ alongside the word “heart” to its online list of definitions.

The OED has been in the process of updating its list of definitions since 1989 and the newest updates show just how thorough a job they’re doing. Thursday’s changes reflect the revisions of “more than 1,900 entries and [additions of] new words from across the dictionary”.
Other modern, text-speak additions include OMG, LOL and FYI. Which, obviously, we also ♥.
