Blue Ivy Carter is on her way to becoming the darling of the Internet as she makes her photographic debut on a Tumblr blog.

A newly-created Tumblr blog leads off with a note from “the Carter family”: “Thank you for respecting our privacy during this beautiful time in our lives.” But fortunately, Beyoncé and Jay-Z seem pleased to let us in. Mere days after her birth, little Blue Ivy Carter was featured on a new track released by her father. And now, the proud parents have released the first pictures of the month-old baby – on a blog.

Even before Blue Ivy’s birth, much speculation centered on the first photographs of the babe. As the first child born to such high-profile parents, photos of the little one were expected to fetch millions. (The record stands at more than $11 million for pictures of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s twins, Vivienne and Knox.) But the musical power couple, whose net worth is estimated to be upwards of $700 million, chose grace over greenbacks. Blue Ivy wasn’t auctioned off to the highest bidder but instead released of their own volition on a publicly-available website. It’s a move being heralded as classy, as the family chose also to avoid the crush of paparazzi thronging for a snapshot.

And the photos, which also appear on both Beyoncé’s and Jay-Z’s personal websites, in addition to the Tumblr, paint a clear picture of just how proud the new parents are. Both Jay-Z and Beyoncé appear in the simple five-photo spread, smiling and cradling their daughter. And the doting public is afforded a glimpse of the surely spoiled little one – who appears to have inherited her father’s nose – that is likely inspiring choruses of awws across the world. Even at the tender age of one month, Blue Ivy Carter is already ascending to stardom.
