Brad Pitt’s Mom Writes Anti-Obama Screed to Local Newspaper

Another example of why family and politics don't mix.

Brad Pitt arrives at the 84th Annual Academy Awards with his mother Jane and partner Angelina Jolie

It looks like Doug Pitt isn’t the only member of Brad’s family getting some extra press this week. On Tuesday, an anti-Obama letter signed by Jane Pitt, the mother of the Hollywood star, appeared in the pages of the Springfield, Missouri News Reader in response to an article about Christians reluctant to vote for Mitt Romney as President.

(VIDEO: Brad Pitt on his Year of Great Performances)

The letter reads, in part:

Any Christian who does not vote or writes in a name is casting a vote for Romney’s opponent, Barack Hussein Obama — a man who sat in Jeremiah Wright’s church for years, did not hold a public ceremony to mark the National Day of Prayer, and is a liberal who supports the killing of unborn babies and same-sex marriage.

The News-Leader later cleared up any confusion of the identity of the author by confirming the letter writer as “the mother of actor Brad Pitt and local businessman Doug Pitt.”

(MORE: Meet Doug Pitt, the Second Most Famous Pitt in His Family)

Her stance could not be further from that of her son, who is one of Hollywood’s most vocal supporters of same-sex marriage. In 2008 Pitt donated $100,000 to help fight Proposition 8, the ballot proposition to repeal same-sex marriage in California. At the time, it was the largest donation to the campaign from an A-List celebrity.

He explained to the Los Angles Times that, “no one has the right to deny another their life, even though they disagree with it, because everyone has the right to live the life they so desire if it doesn’t harm another and because discrimination has no place in America, my vote will be for equality and against Proposition 8.”

Pitt and actress Angelina Jolie, his partner of seven years, with whom he has six children, had also famously vowed not to marry each other until same-sex couples also shared that right. (The couple announced their engagement in April, however, and although they have yet to set a date, Pitt told The Hollywood Reporter that he didn’t “think we’ll be able to hold out” until gay marriage is universal.)

Pitt is also a big fan of the president — even more so than his fiancée. At the premiere of her film The Land of Milk and Honey at the Holocaust Museum in Washington D.C., Jolie said of the current administration, “there are many, many things that have gone in a wonderful direction and there are a few things I’m disappointed in.” When asked if he was an Obama supporter at the same premiere, Pitt answered, “I have been and remain so.”

Interestingly, Pitt shares more than a political affinity with the President; they also share an ancestor, Edwin Hickman, making them ninth cousins.

A FEW QUESTIONS/COMMENTS on GAY MARRIAGE:

If gay marriage is ok, why not make polygamy, incest, or pedophilia, OK?

And all of aforementioned in the name of 'LOVE' will justify them all?

Do the "ends" justify the "means" at any cost?

Are gays really being honest with themselves and others in "coming out of the closet"? Why the need for gay "pride" in the first place decades ago?

Perhaps someone can explain why they want to shame others for their hate or homophobia when they themselves needed to advertise and promote their own "pride" well before anyone knew about gay pride?

ONE LAST POINT/QUESTION.

Doesn't the medical community recommend that you, "Wash your hands after you go to the bathroom."?

Yet, now there are some in the medical community that now say it's OK to "Sleep with the waste that gets flushed down in the toilet?" and that it's possible to live a perfectly normal life.

I remember when Time was a respected publication and not a source of screeds.. yes, the writer of this column has written a screed. Not Jane Pitt, she wrote a brief, sensible  letter to the editor, rebutting the letter sent in by another person. For the brain dead, Judith Welikala, who obviously was too lazy to crack open a dictionary, the word screed is defined as (noun) screed a long monotonous harangue.

Let's review that, shall we, Ms Welikala.. screed, long, monotonous, referring to repeating one's self, ad nauseum, over and over again, harangue, a diatribe.

Mrs. Pitt was succinct and to the point. She countered what she knew to be an incorrect and false argument, based on stereotyping. She stated her support for her beliefs and that it wasn't wrong for Christians to vote for a candidate who was a Mormon, nor was it wrong for a Christian to support Christian beliefs. I'm well aware that the left have attempted to redefine pro-Christian to mean, anti-gay, but the left wishing that definition to be fact, it isn't. We live in a free country, and it's not anti-gay to be a Christian to hold fast to Christian beliefs.  What's more, if the US abandons it's 1st amendment rights per religious freedom, it's not only Christians and Jews who will be harmed, it'll be gays and lesbians too. You see, the only thing preventing Muslims from being able to get away with imposing sharia, under sharia loving, gay and lesbian murdering Muslim Brotherhood types imposing said sharia law, who are the favorites of Obama, who has been funding the imposition of sharia (which states that homosexuality is a crime punishable by death, and remember, Islam might hide behind the window dressing of religion, but it's also a form of government, it uses the lie that it's a religion, to impose it's hateful and evil fascistic laws.) in the US and in Europe. If you think Obama's on your side because he threw you a bone vis a vis a few laws, you're easily duped. Just like the illegal aliens he's doing the same con on now. Nor is it that Obama is clueless in regards to what sharia law says about homosexuality, he's very cognizant of that fact, he's just been protected from having to answer to any of his hypocrisies and lies, from the left, including the big gay leftists who like to issue their screeds against Christians at the drop of a hat. What all that tells me is, that whether it's the regular leftist media, or the big gay media, especially the entertainment media types, they don't seem to have a problem with violence against gays, it's just that they like to exploit gays, as a cudgel with which to use to hate Christians and Jews. If I were gay or lesbian, I'd be seriously worried about what that means long term. Stop and do some serious, linear thinking gays and lesbians, I mean it. Can you say used, as in you're being used.

Also, as an aside, one with any intellectual curiosity, I'll go further, one with any intellect at all, should be thinking right about now, gee.. why didn't Time magazine write any articles decrying the homophobic and inhumane murders of gay teenagers in Iran and other Muslim countries, given the fact that every few months it's reported that one or more gay teens or adults is hung, stoned, shot, beheaded, or murdered in one way or another for being gay? Why didn't Time writers, like the moronic Ms. Welikala pen a piece aghast when she read the article on sfgate.com about the 3 Muslim men, who were driving around San Francisco a few years ago, videotaping themselves shooting guns at gay men, trying to kill them? Or when gay men were stalked in Minnesota by gangs of Somali Muslims that have been taking over inner city areas and seeking to impose sharia controlled (aka gay free) zones in Minnesota cities like Minneapolis? Or the honor killing last year in Canada when a gay (or lesbian) teen was killed by the father? Those and other such facts haven't caused the hilariously named, "queers for Palestine" to cease existence. In fact when reminded about what their fate would be in "Palestine" they refuse to respond, because said, "queers for Palestine" don't hate violence against gays, but they do hate Christians and Jews. They're an example of mental illness in the glbtq community. I happen to believe that sane glbtq people ought to be running a mile from the extremists in their midsts, because those extremist, radical, anti-Christian, anti-Semitic glbtq people are the same insane types, like Ernst Roehm, and his cohorts who lifted Hitler to power, and ended up doing serious harm to their fellow glbtq people in doing so, themselves included.

There are several reasons to discriminate against homosexuality.  Medical reasons such as gay bowel disease and depression, increased health care related costs, offending straight people who abhor homosexual advances, public bathrooms have been separated by gender to eliminate sexual attraction which is now in a state of chaos when it's not just the opposites attracted to one another, it's biologically dysfunctional, it ignores the reality that life is sexually transmitted, it severs a family lineage, it promotes the disintegration of biological families, exposes impressionable children to a lifestyle parents disagree with, it creates a shortened life span, and most importantly to some of us, the Bible says it's wrong.  And while these values can't be forced on others, they should examine the evidence rather than simply choosing what feels good.

Anyone who bases his/her vote and/or political affiliation on abortion, who marries whom and superstition is either cynical and rich or sincere and stupid.

The national rejection of the Lord is wrong!  What we see now is most Americans either don't believe in the Lord or they say the Lord approves of their sinful behavior.  Abortions and same-sex marriage are abominations to God, but so are pride, selfishness, greed, mercilessness, belligerence, favoritism to the rich, and oppression of the poor.  Neither republicans nor democrats deserve the Christian vote!!!

Isn't it interesting how these "pro-life" voters  are also big supporters of the death penalty and all the wars the U.S. is involved in across the globe? (And don't seem to give a tinker's damn about hungry, neglected babies or disabled servicemen returning from those wars they're all so supportive of...)

Churches across the nations (Catholics and Protestants) have been helping the poor and the sick on housing, transportation, food and bills. BTW you proved clueless. How many homeless came to the churches asking for help all the times? Countless. Wonder how it will work out this time when Catholic churches stop helping.

Each year the statistics have shown that conservatives out give the liberals out of personal pockets (hint not using tax money).  Google it.

Why do you think most service personnel are non-liberals? Because they know better who have their back in every way. Ever give to Fisher House, ever do anything nice for the vet personally? Speaking as a military spouse.

The good Samaritans don't get in front of TV to give you a nice smile.  So stop being misinformed.

You're misinformed.  True "Pro-life" folks consider ALL life sacred.  Sometimes we're stuck with choosing between two candidates - one who favors saving the million unborn children who die from abortion in the USA each year, and the other who is against the death penalty that might kill 100 in a year.  Oh and also, you'll find most church-going pro-lifers first in line helping the homeless and hungry while the selfish "pro-death" folks are only interested in their own agenda and pocketbook.

Cite facts, please. Barack Obama has increased the debt ceiling 4 to 5 times, and made 600 billion dollars go missing yet he refuses to open the accounting books to show where that money has gone. He claims to care about "health care", yet he looted 1 trillion dollars from the medicare trust fund, to pay for his Obamacare, which hasn't even gone into effect yet, but has bled the taxpayer dry.,, in case you're not swift enough to figure it out, the money's being going into Obama and his cronies pockets. In 2007, Michelle Obama, who was working for the University of Chicago Medical Center, helped her employer steal the funding that they received from the federal government, through a program put in place by Ronald Reagan, to pay to treat the poor on the south side of Chicago, you know, all those poor people, mostly black that comprised Obama's constituency when he was a politician in the state. Obama used his power as a US senator, to add an amendment to a bill, that allowed the UofC Medical Center to send the poor to other hospitals further afield, it allowed them to deny those poor from the southside needed health care, even in emergencies. After Senator Obama got that amendment added to a law and passed, Michelle Obama received a 250 thousand dollar raise. It was only exposed when a woman complained, raised a stink, a a reporter at the Chicago Sun Times reported on it. Her son, Dontae Adams, 12 years old at the time, had part of his lip bitten off by a dog. His mom rushed him to the hospital, but all they would do was give him a tylenol and tell his mother to take him on city buses to another hospital, that hospital was several hours away. Thankfully, Dontae ended up getting the proper care, once he got to that hospital. If his lip hadn't been reattached, it would have caused him not only to be seriously disfigured, it would have impacted his speech. Of course, Michelle and Barack Obama have refused to address this fact and their leftist colleagues have protected them, made excuses for them, lied about it. The law still is in place, and the Obama's rich friends who run the medical center hospital, profit from money intended by Reagan to provide needed health care to poor  citizens on the south side.

Obama has looted the US treasury to profit his rich friends, and harmed  poor and middle class US citizens, he's established conditions that turned a recession into a depression far worse than the Great Depression of the '30s. He's caused untold millions of US citizens, black, brown and white to be homeless, including children, and he ignores it. He's a viole man, the worst president in the history of the US.

Gunny King
