This pre-recorded short featured Louis C.K. as Abraham Lincoln in a parody of the comedian’s FX show, Louie. Lincoln’s awkward interactions with freed slaves and self-deprecating bits of standup were completely on par with moments from Louie — but, according to SNL writer Mike Shoemaker, it was Seth Meyers who wrote it, not C.K. Bravo, Meyers, because this clever sketch was one of the high points of a somewhat shaky episode.
You might need to be a Louie fan to truly appreciate this one — but really, everyone should have become a Louie fan a long time ago.
