3:45 p.m.: All students have now been evacuated from Lone Star College and the North Harris campus will remain closed for the rest of the day, according to a tweet from the official Lone Star College account. The search for a suspected shooter is taking place in the woods around the campus.

3:24 p.m.: The Lone Star College campuses ban guns of any sort, along with many other weapons, according to the college’s Student Code of Conduct. The shooters in this incident would have been in violation of campus policy by bringing their firearms onto the campus.

3:15 p.m.: Aside from the three injured, a fourth person suffered a heart attack during the shooting, CNN reports.

3:10 p.m.: Lone Star College tweets that the situation is under control, at least inside the college’s seven buildings, though the manhunt remains around the campus.

A strong police presence remains around the college, according to reports.

3:05 p.m.: A sheriff’s official tells the Associated Press that three people were wounded in the shooting, with one “person of interest” in custody. But a “wide perimeter” has been established around the campus as the investigation continues.

2:35 p.m.: Police are scouring the North Harris campus of Lone Star College just north of Houston after reports of a shooter on campus has led to a school-wide lockdown. According to the school’s website, an evacuation is in progress: “A couple of armed suspects reported.; injuries reported,” though officials haven’t yet noted how many people were injured.

One person is in custody, according to the Associated Press. But the situation is not yet mitigated. Christina Garza, spokeswoman for the Harris County Sheriff, confirmed to KHOU that police are still looking for another shooter on campus. The shooting was reportedly between two gunmen and was reported at 12:31 p.m. Central time, according to KPRC.

Shots were fired on the campus, a college spokesperson confirmed to Houston ABC affiliate KTRK. Students are being advised to seek shelter in place as police conduct a hunt around the school’s premises, a fairly wooded area 20 miles north of downtown Houston.

According to CNN, Houston Northwest Medical Center has received one patient so far in an incident related to the shooting.

Four schools in the area — an elementary school, two middle schools and a high school — were also placed on lockdown as a precaution.

being a grateful and strong supporter, I am an avid USA watcher from Canada and I was glued to CNN for the inaugural activities and was wowed!!...Today I saw Anderson interview some fellow on reference to this latest shooting incident and I was shocked by his comments

Imagine living in the great USA where the kids need to be armed at school to defend themselves or just take out some nut-bar who had access to a gun and came in a shootin...yee ha...Annie get yer gun!!!!!

Looking at all those cop cars it's hard to see why they can't provide public safety patrols on campuses to prevent these slaughters. If we are to have freedom to own any gun then we have to pay to protect ourselves from gun wielding maniacs.

@MichaelMitchell Because that requires cops to be on campus all the time, therefore they can't be anywhere else. The freedom to own a gun does not require that we pay someone else to protect us from maniacs. This freedom carries with it a responsibility to be armed and for law-abiding citizens within society to protect each other. However, no one wants to be bothered with such a "nuisance" or accept that responsibility. The reality is that if these schools want to deny their students the right to self-protection then THE SCHOOL better pony up and provide protection for them.

More of the mass shooting incidents appear to be happening. I dont know if there are truly more or less but it seems like more. What is going on? The demographics regarding these shooters are very similar.

@bibleverse1 this was not a mass shooting. I went to this school. it was a gang related fight that progressed into guns being pulled and sadly 2 students were injured in the crossfire. It does not make it any better. Nor should it be tolerated. But Gang violence has its own history and unfortunately gang members do not care where they are or who they harm in the crossfire. Criminals have no care for the law or code of morals.

White people have shooting on their campuses and schools and now its headline news. This is so sad. How bout you do in YOUR schools what you do to black schools? Overpolice, place armed police guards INSIDE your grade, to college level schools, ARREST whites for everything. From arguing with teachers, to common fighting with no weapons involved. This is a shooting between TWO PEOPLE and others were Shot. This sounds like black folk shooting. No one killed. if it is...WATCH WE get the BRUNT OF MEDIA HATE for school shooting, and everyone will be calling for the death penalty!!!

@SherrodDJnineBrown You should probably go to that college and take a course in English, because I'm not very clear what the heck you're saying - although it sounds angry ;')

@SherrodDJnineBrown  I don't know if you know anything about the area,  But as i am from there  I will fill you in the North Harris Lone Star college campus that this shooting happened at is actually a very multi racial campus. "White people" so you say are among the minority. This shooting was not about race. I normally let people spit out what ever opinions they have. But next time get you facts and do you research be for you spit you venom good sir.  I went to campus and I sat in the same classrooms as these students.

@SherrodDJnineBrown I'm not sure whether to laugh at your comment or be genuinely concerned about your attempt to articulate some point which makes no sense.

Way to go Kyle.  What this country and all schools is to allow Jesus back into their lives. Keep giving the testimony buddy.

@leota12 Jesus doesn't like you and said you can't send your children to any of his schools. He said you are foolish and a waste of time.

@leota12 But, but. Jesus said to love the poor, while Rush Limbaugh and Hateradio say to Hate the poor. Who are we to listen to? Jesus doesn't have as big a radio following.

Can't we have something like paintball? When these angry loons get upset, they can just go to an enclosed range and shoot at each other until one is dead. Maybe we should bring back dueling and that would keep the innocent safe.
