The Hall of Famer pokes fun at his efforts to befriend North Korea's supreme leader

Former NBA star Dennis Rodman took a crack at advertising nuts in a new commercial for Wonderful Pistachios (the same brand that spoofed PSY’s Gangnam Style and Prancercise guru Joanna Rohrback).

“The secret to world peace is…pistachios!” the Chicago Bulls’ ex-forward tells an actor playing Kim Jong Un. Sadly, the fake dictator does not appreciate basketball legend’s advice — perhaps it was Rodman’s fluorescent green hairdo that put the faux supreme leader off — and blows him up instead.

The Hall of Famer has had a special relationship with the real North Korean dictator and “friend for life” since February, when he led the Harlem Globetrotters to an exhibition game in the Hermit Kingdom as part of a Vice documentary. Earlier this month in New York City, Rodman announced he would be coaching North Korea’s national basketball team for the 2016 Olympics as part of his latest effort to improve relations between the U.S. and North Korea through “basketball diplomacy.” He also revealed Kim Jong Un’s baby daughter is named Ju-ae and called the foreign leader a “good Dad.”
