A Florida woman was accused of “dancing in a vulgar manner” in front of children, but instead of being asked to host Saturday Night Live, she was arrested.

A Lake County deputy spotted Valerie Dixon, 27, bent over at the waist and screaming profanities at a school bus full of children. The Orlando Sentinel reported that the children on the school bus were watching as Dixon twerked and allegedly grasped her genital area before the officer stepped in to stop the show. According to the local news affiliate, Dixon, who had no previous criminal charges, was charged with disorderly conduct and booked into the Lake County Jail. She was released from jail on Wednesday after posting a $250 bond, and is due to appear in court on October 22.

This is not the first public twerking arrest in Florida. Last month, internet vlogger Carmel Kitten was arrested by an undercover officer while she was trying to record a twerk video at a public bus stop. Back in February, when two Canadian tourists were arrested on charges of being drunk and disorderly, possession of marijuana and resisting arrest, the sisters proceeded to twerk at the police station. The women were fined $250 each and ordered to do 25 hours of community service upon their return to Canada.

While many people have joked that twerking should be outlawed after Miley Cyrus’s controversial appearance at the MTV awards, Florida is making it happen.

Heigh; Mrs Dixon!

Shouldn´t  have to imagine and put inside the yellow bus again, so to feel at ease in view of that causes public annoyance.

Footloose. Paul Blart successfully defeated the evil plant villian now he saves the school children from twerking.

More waste of public funds.  Who cares?  I thought that was settled 60 years ago with that feller, Elvis.

I'd like to say that twerking really doesn't exist. It's a spin off of booty shaking etc something strippers use on stage. This has nothing to do with hip hop people just bought into a stupid trend. Miley shocked the world cause she attempted to shake her ass and repeatedly made a fool of herself. As for this woman im speechless as to why she'd do it in public. That type of dancing is made for a club.

Good.  People need to realize there are consequences for inappropriate behavior.

Dancing in public with your clothes on can get you arrested? Convicted of what? This is so silly.

Thank God she was arrested.  Let's hope she's convicted.

SInce she did this in front of minors, and actually FOR view by minors, i agree with arresting her, but as for the other incidents, i cannot see it holding up in court.  BU tthen again, .gov has been rewriting laws to suit their own needs these days.

Given the first amendment, I don't see the law standing the "constitutionality test".  Being offensive is "freedom of speech".

But I can make a reasonable argument as to why it's best to let complete morons twerk in public:  At least that way you know BEFORE you breed with them that it's a stupid thing to add their defective genes to your family tree or the future of humanity.

Make those convicted (t)work off their sentences with 100 hours of community service: teaching the hokey-pokey to twerk-addicts at hip-hop rehabs, 12-step meetings and halfway houses. "Hi, I'm Shaquanda, and I'm powerless over my twerking."

People have no sense of shame and public decency anymore.
