It turns out that taking students to strip clubs for their 18th birthdays doesn’t get you a teacher of the year award. It gets you fired. And also arrested.

According to an affidavit, 31-year-old high school chemistry teacher Travis Lechien was accused of just that, as well as  inviting students to his house to drink beer and smoke hookah “on four or five separate occasions.”

The Indiana teacher was fired from the school he worked at for nine years and is facing three counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

His court appearance is set for next month, giving him plenty of time for lap dances before jail time.

I’d B fine with this teacher if he taught how dangerous fracking near school are...those are the teachers that need 2 B arrested...those who allowed this in the first place.

The legal age of majority in most places is 18.

To avoid the hassle of discriminating those who can legally be served alcohol from those who cannot, any bar or restaurant can restrict entry to 21-and-up. Typically, if you can die in Iraq, you can legally enter a strip club.

That said, the fact that a high school student was willing to attach his signature to rumours and hearsay changes little. Affidavit or no, the allegation that Lechien offered beer to minors is based on anecdotal evidence of the most notoriously unreliable sort.
