We’re already drinking diet soda, Pepsi, what more do you want from us?

Just in time for New York Fashion Week, Pepsi is debuting its new Diet Pepsi “Skinny Can” which is simply a taller, skinnier version of the old can. Or, as Pepsi puts it, a “taller, sassier” version. Um, sassy?

Nothing else about the product seems to have changed, save for the packaging. But don’t think that means that the new can is for naught–Pepsi says it’s actually a “celebration of beautiful, confident women.” Because nothing celebrates confidence and beauty like making perfectly good things and making them thinner, right?

Obviously there isn’t anything wrong with introducing a slimmer, more Red Bull-ish type can. NewsFeed just can’t quite grasp the implied meaning behind Pepsi’s marketing strategy of said can.

But don’t worry if you don’t want to drink your DP from a test tube–the old short, squat version of the cans will still be available. For those who just aren’t feeling quite as sassy. (via CNN Money)
