Plot: Taking a seat at a piano, Segal announced he would play a song to calm his SNL-hosting jitters. And with his impending Muppet movie debut, a number of friends came to join him – and to steal his hosting thunder. During a ditty in which he crooned “I Can’t Believe I’m Hosting SNL,” his Muppet “co-hosts” also couldn’t believe that they were hosting SNL. Segal paused the tune to set them straight, but the Muppets quickly staged a cuddly coup, explaining that they’d been a part of the show since 1975. As with all the Muppets’ family-friendly programming, this one proved a lesson in agreement and cooperation, as the song ended on a high-note – and a hilarious one, too.
Best Line: “You know, there’s a perfectly good reason why I’m hosting and not you. For one, half you guys aren’t even wearing pants.”
