On February 24, 2008, a man dressed in black stabbed two men with a double-edged knife in a Fullerton, Calif. theater during a screening of the horror film The Signal (2007). The film was stopped after the stabbing while police responded to the incident; bizarrely, according to Fullerton Police Lt. Tom Basham, when the movie restarted the first scene to appear featured a stabbing. About a week later, police arrested the suspect, Steven Walter Robinson, 24, at his family’s home in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was sentenced to life in prison on December 11, 2009.
