When Old Milwaukee teamed up with Will Ferrell for an ad campaign, they probably had no idea just how weird things would get. The mind behind Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby and one of the greatest Saturday Night Live sketches ever, has produced three of the strangest beer ads ever.

The Old Milwaukee ad, which aired during the Super Bowl, featured Ferrell engaged in a deep kiss with a woman on a bus as a Chinese song identified on Reddit as “Mother, Where Are You?” played. There were no words, but only a long camera shot that eventually settled on a six-pack of Old Milwaukee.

But before you go clicking through NewsFeed’s comprehensive guide to the Best and Worst Commercials of Super Bowl XLVII,  keep in mind that it only aired in TV markets in Oklahoma, Texas, and Montana. This follows a pattern: Last year one of his ads aired exclusively in North Platte, Neb., followed by a decision to bring the campaign to Sweden. Luckily, Ferrell appears to speak decent Swedish.

Reportedly, Ferrell isn’t paid for the ads, but was lured by the appeal of getting to “shoot crazy fun commercials.”

Fans of the actor will note that in the ad, he is sporting Ron Burgundy’s trademark mustache; Ferrell is currently working on Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues.
