The hand holding that prosthetic ear belongs to Bob Barron, a former “master of disguise” at the CIA. Barron, who for a quarter-century helped changed the identities of spies with his handiwork, created the fake ear for five-year-old Peter Dankelson, who suffered from a congenital disease that robbed him of his left ear. His parents brought him from Michigan in Dec. 2005 so that Barron could fit him with the prosthetic.
