Wiig brought back another SNL favorite: Kat, one half of the chronically underprepared singing duo Garth and Kat. (Garth, of course, is played by Fred Armisen.) The singer-songwriters always don matching white turtlenecks and themed vests, and never seem to know the words to any of their songs, which generally revolve around holidays. This week, the duo stopped by to promote their new Mother’s Day album, and, as usual, ended up improvising all the song titles and lyrics. Armisen and Wiig seemed a bit out of sync, but this sketch is still worth a watch, as it’s always fun to see true improv on SNL.
