Facing charges for the murder of an acquaintance–to which he’s pleaded not-guilty–former Patriots’ tight end Aaron Hernandez can only hope he’s as popular with the judge as he is on eBay. A user on the auction site has placed a $1,003 bid on a Patriots jersey autographed by embattled player–with one day to go in the 3-day bid.

Store-bought jerseys with the former NFL player’s No. 81 on them sold for $289 on eBay this weekend from people who originally bought the jerseys for $50-$100, according to the Boston Globe. Overall, there are 2,161 “Aaron Hernandez” items on site and, according to the Globe, “one man on Craigslist is offering to buy ‘anything’ related to Hernandez.”

But one group that seem to want nothing to do with Hernandez is his former team, the Patriots. Merely two hours after the 23-year-old’s arrest, the team announced that they released him from his $40 million contract. The franchise is also offering parents of young fans who bought a Hernandez jersey at their ProShop at Gillette Stadium the chance to exchange it for another player’s on July 6th and 7th, according an online announcement.
