There are space enthusiasts, and then there are the people who are in a bidding war over Buzz Aldrin’s underwear on RR Auction.

We’ve heard of moon rock auctions, but this is on a completely different level.

Starting at 6 p.m. Thursday, people started putting in their bids for the moon walker’s unmentionables. The long johns were made in 1968 for use during the Apollo 11 training and mission. It even has “E. Aldrin” (the astronaut’s first name is Edwin) sewn on front.

Bidding is currently at $5,682, but prices could skyrocket.
