Any Mexican food lover knows that when a burrito craving hits, it hits hard. And sometimes the idea of driving all the way to Chipotle or Taco Bell is just too much. For those days, there’s Burritobox, which is billed as the “world’s first burrito kiosk.”
The giant orange box of heaven allows you to pick between six different varieties of warm burritos for just $3. Box Brands, the company behind this potentially genius invention, boasts that its burritos contain 100% natural ingredients and no hormones or antibiotics. You can find the vending machine on Santa Monica Blvd in Los Angeles–inside a Mobil station, of course. The dispenser also plays music videos to entertain you while you anxiously await your future food baby. Which means you can dance like this girl while you wait:
This isn’t the first time a vending machine has sparked a frenzy. Last year people lost their minds over a Belgian frites machine in Belgium. And that’s not all: machines that dispense high-end items like caviar, cupcakes and champagne have popped up around the world.
But before you head to West Hollywood to get your fix, let’s take a quick look at two taste tests:
Laist: “The tortillas were a little bit mushy—some more so than others—and sheets of tortilla stuck to the paper as we unwrapped them. The fillings were pretty hit and miss but mostly miss.”
Vice: “Honestly, this thing was no different than getting a frozen burrito at the gas station and microwaving it, like in the old days.”
High praise.
